Curators Note: A sculpted black silk satin bustier by Luciano Soprani, dating to Spring/Summer 1991. Lingerie construction formed a recurring element of the collection, with sweetheart bustiers appearing throughout the runway beneath sheer and openwork layers. Cut entirely in silk with a soft lustre, the top is constructed around shaped cups with precise curved seaming. Fine straps with and adjustable back. A strong example of Soprani's work, balancing the sensuality of lingerie with precise, controlled construction.
