An early Escada leather skirt from the 1980s, made in Western Germany by SRB. Cut in exceptionally soft leather in a warm cognac-terra cotta tone, with a long, gently flared silhouette and softly gathered volume through the hips.
The sculpted high waist is the defining detail, rising and dipping around the body and finished with an integral buckled strap. Long leather tabs with antiqued metal studs fall from either side, giving the otherwise refined shape a subtle utilitarian character.
A particularly strong example of early Escada, before the more exuberant aesthetic for which the house became known later in the decade. The combination of supple leather, exaggerated waist and restrained detailing feels remarkably modern.
